Almost Everybody Needs Iodine
Almost everyone needs iodine. Iodine is the food that converts into thyroid hormones. Iodine is necessary for the immune system because it makes your body warm. If you are not warm enough then the body cannot kill viruses and bacteria very effectivity.
You may be taking the right herbs or even anti-biotics but they won’t work as well if you can’t heat up.
Your thyroid needs iodine. Your thyroid blood tests may look normal but you are not being tested to see if you need iodine, and so your tests may look normal.
Two major iodine deficiency symptoms are these:
Cold hands and feet:
Most of the time when I see someone who has cold hands and/or feet and I give them enough iodine they improve very quickly.
Losing hair:
Many people try to take supplements to build the hair, which I feel is useless in most cases; however I have seen many people stop losing hair when taking iodine.
Your Breasts Need Iodine
You have more iodine in your breast tissue than in your thyroid. Every cell in your breasts has receptors for iodine. If there is not enough iodine to fill those receptors then they can get filled with toxins such as bromides.
Bromate was first found to cause tumors in rats in 1982. Subsequent studies on rats and mice confirmed that it causes tumors of the kidney, thyroid, and other organs.
Currently, bromide is found in pesticides (methyl bromide), some bread products (potassium bromate), brominated vegetable oil that may be added to citrus-flavored drinks, hot tub cleansers, certain asthma inhalers and prescription drugs, plastic products, some personal care products, some fabric dyes, and as a fire retardant in mattresses, carpeting, etc.
It is not possible to avoid bromides but iodine can help you get rid of them.

Constipation:
In many cases constipation is caused by a slow metabolism. Iodine can help to speed up your metabolism and in many cases help reduce constipation. Also if you are constipated stop drinking cold water or any cold drink. In Chinese medicine they consider a sluggish metabolism a “coldness” condition. So if you are trying to warm up your system it will be much harder if you are drinking cold drinks or eating cold foods.
All iodine is not created equal.
I like a formula that is made of iodine 5 mg and iodide 7.5 mg per unit. The amount that is right for a person would be enough so that she is not cold anymore, has more energy, and is not losing hair. Most people seem to feel a lot better between 1 and 4 units per day.
Many health problems are complex and one nutrient alone is not usually a solution but iodine is so important is that even if you do 20 things that are right they may not work as well as they could if you don’t have enough of the right kind of iodine.
